Got the Noire X a few weeks ago and finds its default tuning lacking low end but loves the stock treble; with a slight V-shaped EQ it is stunning with a phenomenal soundstage.

Loves the Noire X: much smoother treble than their Aeon 2 Closed, fast textured bass without muddying the mids, and comfortable enough to wear all day.
Was underwhelmed by the Noire X at first, but after a week and adjusting how it sits it clicked: balanced, clear, never fatiguing, with impactful bass and comfort better than their Focal Hadenys.
Compared the Noire X with the Aeon 2 Noire and finds it a tad more fatiguing in the treble with barely different bass and soundstage.
Uses the Noire X portably with a BTR17 or Qudelix-5K and thinks little under $1000 beats it, with isolation good enough for commuting.
Bought the Noire X for office use and finds it sounds great without EQ, comfortable for long listening with good isolation.
Liked their Noire X so much they also bought the E3.
Returned the Noire X because the plastic headband transmitted a reverb when talking, and found the sound a bit worse than the older Noire, though comfort was great.
Had the original Aeons and Aeon RT, which felt lifeless next to the Noire X, which does everything well and takes EQ.
Has owned several Dan Clark headphones and finds the Noire X noticeably better tuned and more dynamic than the Aeon 2.
Compared the Noire X and E3 and bought the Noire X, finding it the best neutral closed back they'd heard, though they later sold it for Fostex.
Found something in the Noire X's treble really painful for their treble-sensitive ears.
Owns the Noire X and E3 and uses the Noire X more often for most genres, with no imbalance or fingerprint issues.
Loved the Noire X's insanely holographic sound but couldn't justify $1000 for a headphone covered in fingerprints.
Bought the Noire X with a Questyle M15i and found the bass overloaded and some songs unlistenable on their phone, though it sounded great from a PC.
Just got the Noire X and finds its low end weaker and less full than their ATH-R70x.
After months with the Noire X finds it technically good but too neutral and soulless, lacking bass quantity, and their ear touches the AMTS insert.
Finds the Noire X extremely comfortable and the sound amazing.
Inherited a Noire X and finds the quality life-changing driven by an iBasso Nunchaku.
Loves their Noire X but finds the metal headband reverberates if bumped, making it a home or hotel headphone.
Upgraded from the Aeon Closed X to the Noire X and after a few weeks finds it night and day, with far less smear.
Finds the Noire X better at separation than their HD 660S2 but a bit boring in comparison, though it needs no EQ.
Owns the Aeon Closed X and Noire X and finds the Noire X leaps ahead without EQ, more dynamic and clearer with much less sibilance.
Heard the Noire X at a show and found its forward upper mids not to their taste.
Was worried about buying the Noire X but loves it, their endgame closed back.
Enjoys the Noire X's clear, detailed sound, closed-back soundstage and comfort, but finds the bass shallow without EQ compared to their Focal Clear OG.
Owns the Noire X and finds its bass impressive once EQ'd, with great planar detail.
Demoed the Noire X and found it very competent with no dynamics issues, but with a shout in the upper mids that stands out.
Demoed the Noire X and found it extremely competent but a little shouty.
Owns the Noire X but finds the HD 480 Pro sounds a tad better, needs less EQ and is more comfortable, so is thinking of selling it.
Owned the Noire X and found it clear and fun on some material but very bright and sharp on others, especially metalcore.
Finds the Noire X's comfort excellent but the sound not really fun for electronic music.
Recently bought the Noire X and finds its isolation poor, worse than their PX8 with ANC off.
Loves their Noire X for classical music, finding its detail retrieval very sharp.
Their DCA Noire X is so comfortable they wear it for 8 hours without discomfort, and it sounds really great.
Found their DCA Noire X too harsh and shouty in the presence region; it hurt at the volumes they wanted on some tracks.
Wears their Noire X in office meetings and finds it great for comfort and clarity, driven by a Mojo 2.
Surprisingly likes the HD 480 Pro more than their DCA Noire X.
Found the Noire X a bit too aggressive in the treble but otherwise quite okay for the price.
At CanJam SoCal nothing, even $10-20k headphones, sounded significantly better than their DCA Noire X.
The Noire X didn't work for them: anemic bass, recessed vocals and spicy, sibilant treble on their head.
Their Noire X sounds thin on a 300 mW Oppo HA-2 but much weightier and clearer on a 1.4 W FiiO K15, with a darker background in balanced mode.
Just got the Noire X and is impressed: superb, sturdy build better than their HE1000 Stealth, a handy foldable design and soft pads, punchy bass with real sub-bass rumble, present mids and polite, non-fatiguing treble. Slightly more clamp and a bit less dynamic than the HE1000 Stealth, but lively and fun.
“I just got the DCA Noire X and I am impressed, and I was not expecting that. I was under the impression that DCA headphones lack dynamics and are bass light due to most reviews online and YouTube videos.”
Finds the Noire X pretty good but can't get past its treble, and the DCA E3 was worse for them, which surprised them since the HD 800 S and Ananda give them no trouble. The DCA Core solved those issues and they are considering it instead.
“Noir X are pretty good, but the treble just kills me. With DCA E3 it was even worse for me. I was quite surprised, because I have 0 issues with HD800s and Ananda.”
