Their Sony MDR-M1 sounds great, aside from slight sub-bass roll-off and a touch too much around 3 kHz.

The Sony MDR-M1 has been their favourite daily driver since it launched.
Bought the MDR-M1 as a first headphone and is disappointed: detail retrieval and separation are lacking, mids unremarkable, bass okay but without much detail.
Using their MDR-M1 and finds it a very good warm-ish headphone.
Enjoyed the MDR-M1's stock signature and found Yaxi STPad2 pads cleared it up a bit.
Wishes they had bought the HD 480 Pro instead of the MDR-M1.
Owns the closed-back MDR-M1 and calls it by far the best value, very close to the MV1 for almost $200 less; treble may be piercing for some, slam is weak and the leather pads trap heat.
