Demoed the Bathys MG side by side with the original and found the difference like stepping up a whole speaker tier, though the original was far cheaper on sale.

positive

After a week with the Bathys MG, having owned the original, finds it a definite step up and has never had quality issues with Focal.

positive

Bought the Bathys MG and finds it lives up to the hype: supremely comfortable with incredible tuning.

positivecomfortable

Can barely put the Bathys MG down; compared with the original it feels like a true luxury upgrade in padding and sound.

positivecomfortable

Found the Bathys MG heavy, with clamping that caused fatigue after a few hours.

mixeduncomfortable

Their Bathys MG had a recurring issue that persisted even on the replacement pair from Focal, which they think is a design flaw.

negativebuild quality issues

Owns the original Bathys, Clear MG and Radiance and finds the Bathys MG not a $700-800 improvement over the original.

mixedoverpriced

After a year with the regular Bathys, just got the Bathys MG and finds it life-changing, with near-wired quality on the go.

positive

Bought the Bathys and Bathys MG together expecting to return the MG, but was blown away by the difference and returned the regular Bathys.

positive

Had the original Bathys and got the MG soon after release; finds it worth it as a portable that almost matches wired headphones on a good DAC/amp.

positive

Had the Bathys MG for three months and it is already crumbling, with paint coming off a cup.

negativebuild quality issues

Chose the Bathys MG over the original for its better sound quality.

positive

Returned the AirPods Max 2 for the Bathys MG, finding it far better in clarity, range and soundstage, though the Max is more durable with better ANC.

Bought the Bathys MG on eBay and finds them amazing Bluetooth headphones.

positive

Has had the Bathys MG for about a year without issues; the app is poor and they'd like a passive mode, but the sound quality is great.

positive

Their Bathys MG just arrived and they are loving it, likening it to a closed-back Clear MG.

positive

Finds the Bathys MG luxuriously built with 10/10 materials and excellent clamp comfort with zero fatigue after an hour, though the buttons are small and oddly placed.

positivecomfortable

Tried the Bathys MG and found the whole experience great, very comfortable even with glasses.

positivecomfortable

The microphone button on their brand-new Bathys MG broke without being dropped, and Focal's support was horrific.

negativebuild quality issues

Got the Bathys MG and is underwhelmed: very good but not stunning, with somewhat flat detail.

mixed

Owns the Bathys MG and hasn't had quality issues beyond imperfect Bluetooth multipoint and occasional restarts.

positive

Used the Bathys MG over Bluetooth for a year, then switching to wired USB mode blew their mind.

positive

Returned the PX8 S2 as too bassy and found the Bathys MG the best-sounding wireless headphones they've had, though frequent public transport use was a problem.

mixed

Owns the Bathys MG and wouldn't trade it for their friend's HDB 630.

positive

Finds the Bathys MG close to rivals over Bluetooth apart from a much wider soundstage, but in wired USB DAC mode it is in another league.

Demoed the Bathys MG in a store and really loved how guitars sounded.

positive

Owns the Bathys MG and the original and finds the MG stands out for sound quality and comfort, always defaulting to it.

positivecomfortable

Returned the Dali IO-12 and kept the Bathys MG for its exceptional imaging and instrument separation.

positivedetailed

Was disappointed by the PX8, found the original Bathys amazing, and the Bathys MG better still, so they can't go back to the original.

positive

Bought the Bathys MG hoping for PX8-like sound with more bass. Very impressed by the build and feel and the separation, but finds the tuning the most boring they've heard for their cinematic, loud listening; keeping it anyway and enjoying it for some moods.

“I was very very impressed with the quality and feel of the mg’s but it was by far the most boring sound signature, it reminded me of my airpods just a lot better quality and separation”

An HD 800 S owner who wanted an end-game wireless pair. Finds the Bathys MG better than the original Bathys, with outstanding timbre and realistic staging, and the large cups keep ears cooler; but it looks bulky on the head, and the plusher pads let their ears touch the mesh unless the headband is set just right.

“Now, aside from these negatives, Mg sounds better than Og, and they sound absolutely heavenly and endgame. The timbre or the realism of music, instruments, and vocals were so outstanding and perfect.”

Has used the Bathys MG since release and, after trying the Solitaire T, Dali IO-12 and Beoplay H100, still finds it the best-sounding wireless headphone, with the best balance of timbre, dynamics, soundstage, imaging and resolution.

“I have been a Bathys MG user since release. I am always searching for the ultimate wireless sound experience, and to this day, the Bathys MG remains the best-sounding wireless headphone in the world for me.”

Bought the Bathys MG after loving the original Bathys in a Focal shop and has no regrets: heavenly sound and comfort with large cups. On two recent flights the noise cancelling was 70–80% as good as Sony or Bose, very good on engine rumble but announcements still get through.

“I find them completely acceptable and around 70-80% as good as the top dogs from Sony / Bose, they supress the "static" noise (airplane rumble for example) very efficiently.”
