Owns the PX8 S2, HDB 630 and Bose QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen); for sound, the Sennheiser wins.
Returned the Bose QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) for the Momentum 4 because they sounded muddy.
Their Bose QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) ANC fades when playback pauses or volume is low, letting outside noise back in after a few seconds.
Has the QC Ultra Headphones 2nd Gen and with EQ finds them very good: excellent build, comfort and ANC, a commercially appealing sound, and USB-C audio.
Tried the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) at home after the B&W PX8 S2: after two hours they were glad to take the Bose off, finding the B&W padding far more comfortable despite the Bose being lighter.
With 16 mm ear gauges, bought and returned the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) because they pressed and hurt like on-ears.
Just received the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) and the left cup's noise cancelling is weaker than the right, the right cup buzzes with ANC on, and immersive audio lags on one side; considering a return.
Replaced a failed B&W PX7 S2e with the QC Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) and finds them more comfortable and better sounding.
Bought the QC Ultra 2 and the Momentum 5 to compare and kept the Bose. Finds the highs and mids crisp and detailed with a smooth, punchy low end, better soundstage and separation, slightly better noise cancelling and by far the best comfort; battery life is about half the Momentum's. Got an open-box pair for $310 and isn't sure it's worth $450.
“The Bose are so much lighter and don't clamp nearly as hard. They are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn by a mile, it's like wearing a pillow on your head.”
