Went to the store for an LCD-2, LCD-X, Arya or HD 800 S and walked out with the MM-500, which barely needs EQ on their FiiO K9 and is their endgame for now.

Owns the MM-500 and, after later trying the Utopia, still thinks the MM-500 can compete.
Has loved their MM-500 for 4-5 months: beautiful, flat bass that takes EQ easily, and they still use it for 70-80% of listening over their pricier ZMF Atrium.
Picked the MM-500 over keeping their Meze 109 Pro: deep, tight bass, strong detailed mids and great separation, only occasionally hot in the upper mids.
Owns both the MM-500 and MM-100 and finds the MM-500 sounds like a more refined HD 650.
After a week, finds the MM-500 far superior to their LCD-XC and LCD-X, with natural vocals and separation, though the snug clamp hurts after a few hours.
Found the MM-500 super comfortable: not light, but the clamp and plush pads make it feel lighter than it is.
